HELP Successfully Fundraises at Sushi Rock in Beachwood, Ohio
On Wednesday August 19th HELP hosted a benefit for the children of Malawi at Sushi Rock in Beachwood, Ohio. Among the evening’s activities, a silent auction, appearances by local celebrity guests, and other live entertainment all contributed to the event’s success. In hopes of raising funds to support their ongoing efforts to provide hope, education, love and protection to the children of Malawi, HELP pulled out all the stops to make sure that the night remained focused on their number one priority. HELP has gained many strides in achieving several of its initial endeavors, but with the ultimate goal of spreading their cause to other impoverished nations, events such as the one held at Sushi Rock play a very important role.
HELP has received tremendous support from the local community and beyond, and this event only reinforced the fact that HELP’s mission to provide children with a healthier and happier life is shared by many.
The silent auction was perhaps the most anticipated part of the evening, and there was a variety of items for guests to bid on. Local vendors donated countless products that were packaged together with those that shared a common theme. Such packages as the appropriately titled “East, Drink and Be Merry” included gift certificates from high-end restaurants Paladar, Melting Pot, and local favorite Bar Louie, just to name a few. “One Goal…The Sequel” featured a set of floor seats to a Cleveland Cavs game, free parking, and a gift card for fine dining downtown at Morton’s Steakhouse. Guests also had the opportunity to bid on a free dog adoption, private sessions with a personal trainer, and a weeklong getaway to the snowy mountains of Colorado. There was truly something for everyone.
Cleveland Cavaliers announcer Austin Carr and lead singer Avril of popular Cleveland band Run Avril Run lent a helping hand, showcasing their talents behind the bar. Their presence was very much appreciated by the HELP staff and guests alike, and their participation in the event was an exciting addition to the night.
HELP is extremely proud of the evening’s outcome. Due to the generosity of those who attended, HELP raised approximately $5000 in donations,100% of which go directly to the organization.
Thank you to everyone who came out to show your support!
