Job Opening in Malawi: H.E.L.P. Business Advisor
H.E.L.P. Malawi is searching for someone with advanced qualifications to join its project in and around Liwonde National Park.
Scope: H.E.L.P. Malawi requires someone with strong managerial skills that can further the organization’s vision of spreading hope, education, love and protection to the children of Malawi.
This person will be expected to maintain or restructure existing projects, design and implement new projects and develop creative solutions to unique problems. The main responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
• Overseeing all income generating activities
• Developing new income generating activities
• Writing and implementing business plans
• Setting goals for profit making and documenting the results
• Helping to develop a brand name
• Strategic planning
• Training local staff on entrepreneurial skills, including computer based documentation
• Maintaining and building relationships with the community
• Record keeping
• Training and mentoring a H.E.L.P. Malawi staff member on the above responsibilities
Qualifications: This position requires a college diploma and at least two years experience working with rural economic groups, CBO’s/NGO’s or something else relative to the field. Experience in project management related to economic development and community mobilization is also needed. Candidates should have substantial experience designing and implementing income generating activities in resource limited settings.
Compensation: The position is for 6 months, but could potentially be extended. Compensation depends on qualifications. Please inquire for details.
